Demos Axiom
About The Demos Axiom
A self-evident truth about politics: it belongs to the people, or it belongs to no one worth defending.
The Demos Axiom is a political publication built on a single idea: the people are a self-evident truth. That is the axiom. Everything else is argument.
We launched in 2026 because the country needs more places where serious political writing happens without spin, without partisanship masquerading as objectivity, and without the cynical sense that nothing can change because powerful people would prefer it that way.
The people are a self-evident truth. That is the axiom. Everything else is argument.
What we cover
Politics, the economy, opinion, and the dispatches from places national journalism tends to forget. We are unapologetically left-leaning, but we are not a campaign and we are not a fan club. Our loyalty is to readers, not parties.
How we work
We publish original reporting and essays from staff writers and contributors. We do not chase the news cycle. We try to write things worth reading a year from now, not just twenty minutes from now.
The team
The Demos Axiom is edited by Daniel Campoy and a small founding editorial team. We are looking to grow. If you are a writer, reporter, or photographer who shares our values, the door at our contact page is open.
